August 2024
Dear Students and Families,
Welcome back to another exciting school year at Sundance Elementary! We hope you all had a fantastic summer filled with fun, adventure, and time spent with family and friends. As we prepare to embark on this new journey together, we are thrilled to welcome both returning and new families to our school community.
We have many staff members who are returning along with some new faces to the building. Please welcome: Ms. Nistler (Kindergarten), Mrs. Wiegel (3rd Grade), Mrs. Inghram (Early Literacy), Mrs. Steele (paraprofessional), Mrs. Haugen (paraprofessional) and Ms. Kuenzel (paraprofessional). You will notice Mrs. Johnson and Mrs. McKenzie have moved to 1st Grade.
Important Dates to Remember:
During the open house, you will have the opportunity to meet your child’s teacher, drop off school supplies, and connect with other families in our school community. We encourage you to attend and get involved!
This year, we will continue to have the after-school program and enrichment Fridays. There will be many activities which we believe will enrich your child’s educational experience. We are excited to see our students grow and succeed both academically and socially.
Communication is key to a successful school year. Please make sure you have signed up for ParentSquare for important updates, newsletters, and announcements throughout the year. We also encourage you to reach out to your child’s teacher if you have any questions or concerns.
The Importance of School Attendance
One of the key factors in achieving academic success is regular school attendance. When students are present in the classroom, they benefit from direct instruction, engage in collaborative learning experiences, and build strong relationships with their peers and teachers. Each day is an opportunity for growth and discovery, and consistent attendance helps ensure that your child is fully prepared to reach their potential.
Thank you for being a vital part of our school community. We are looking forward to a fantastic year filled with learning, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Together, let’s make this school year the best one yet!
Warm regards,
Robert Wiegel, SES Principal
