Partnering for SUCCESS.
We appreciate your continued partnership in supporting our students’ success. One of the best ways we can work together is by ensuring everyone is informed on important expectations and resources.
Please take a few moments to read through our PARENT & STUDENT HANDBOOK and familiarize yourself with school policy, academic expectations, safety procedures, communication guidelines and more. By reviewing the handbook with your child, you help reinforce a shared understanding that sets the foundation for a positive and productive school year.
Please take the opportunity to review the updates made to the parent and student handbook for the 2025-2026 school year.
Per page 9 in the CCSD #1 elementary parent and student handbook, attendance letters will no longer be sent at four days. As parents, you will receive a letter when your child has reached six and/or eight days missed per semester.
As a reminder, anytime a child misses school for an appointment (doctor, dentist, eye doctor, chiropractor, etc) you may turn in a note to have the absence changed to a doctor excused absences. A doctor’s excused absence does not count toward a child’s eight allowable days per semester.
Per page 9 in the CCSD #1 elementary parent and student handbook, under Illness and Other Family Business, please note that doctor’s notes now need to be turned in within four (4) school days of the absence. A doctors note turned in after four (4) school days, will not be changed, but will be put on file to reference in the event of a later attendance issue.
Per page 13 in the CCSD #1 elementary parent and student handbook, please note the new Fever policy. This policy helps prevent the spread of illness and ensures that your child has enough time to rest and recover fully before returning to school.
If your child is sent home with a fever or is running a fever at home, they should remain at home until they have been fever-free for at least 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication. We appreciate your help in keeping our classrooms healthy and safe for all students and staff.
Per page 15 in the CCSD #1 elementary parent and student handbook, the CCSD #1 school board has authorized the use of video cameras on school district property to ensure the health, welfare, and safety of all staff, students and visitors, and to safeguard district facilities and equipment. Video cameras may be used in locations deemed appropriate by the Superintendent. If a video surveillance recording captures a student or other building user violating school policies or rules, or local, state or federal laws, it may be used in appropriate disciplinary proceedings against the student or other building user and may also be provided to law enforcement agencies.
